Laughter Really is the Best Medicine
It turns out that laughter really is the best medicine. It can boost your immune system and help reduce depression and anxiety. All great benefits this time of year! I’ve been working with my wellness center on post to learn how to manage my stress better. In my introductory class, I learned that laughter is one of the best ways to manage stress.
I’m your go-to gal if you want a good listening ear or if you want to get something done. I’m not the one to crack jokes, quote lines from a comedy, or go on and on about the latest SNL skit. I had to make a conscious decision to lighten up a little bit. I’ve started participating more in lively conversations with other military spouses at gatherings. We all have some pretty outrageous stories to tell! And, I’ve actually started clicking on funny things that people post on Facebook. This one about creepy things kids tell their parents had me rolling last night. (Watch out. It IS creepy, and there’s some language.)
So, check out the following infographic on all of the ways that laughter is good for you, and then go seek out ways to get a good belly laugh. Maybe it’s a movie or maybe it’s that light-hearted friend who can always make you giggle uncontrollably.
What has made you laugh lately?
