Top Reasons to Attend Our Virtual Military Spouse Wellness Summit

A week of wellness for military spouses made easy, with everything you need available online. Six days of you time. Let that sink in for a moment. What would happen if you were to spend six days focusing on crafting a life with purpose? How could that influence the rest of your year? The rest of your life?

When I co-founded InDependent, I already had a couple of wellness-related retreat experiences under my belt. I went to Ibiza for a week-long Bikini Bootcamp and I did a three-week, resident yoga teacher training program in Southern Spain. As a military spouse and mom, I had to be okay with spending that kind of money on myself and asking friends to assist my husband with my daughter while I was gone.

When we dreamed up the Military Spouse Wellness Summit, we decided that we wanted to host an impactful week of wellness, but it needed to be virtual so that it could be accessible to every military spouse, no tricky logistics or major budgeting required.

Here are our top reasons why you should join us for the Summit during the first week in March:

Six days of you time – This is a week when you set aside some time for wellness, reflection and personal development. Maybe you keep that week clear of extra commitments or you get some help with your usual responsibilities. That way you can focus on diving into our 10 inspiring interviews. You spend so much time taking care of others. Isn’t it time you dedicate some time to yourself?

No travel – I’ve passed up some fun conferences in the States because I live in Germany. Even if I wanted to fork out money for the conference itself, the hefty travel price tag made attendance feel unreasonable. We want military spouses everywhere to attend, regardless of duty station or disposable income. The only travel you need to consider is where you’re going to be listening…maybe a cozy nook in your house, a forest trail alive with new growth, or even on your commute to work.

No child/pet care– Some strategically timed playdates could be nice during Summit Week so you could take special care of yourself, but the virtual nature of this summit means that you don’t have to rearrange your whole life to attend. You fit the Summit into the nooks and crannies of your days.

No missed work – Counting vacation days stinks, and it’s hard to choose to prioritize wellness and personal development when it competes with family time. You can fit this week of wellness into your work week. Best of both worlds. And, if you happen to work with other military spouses, you can invite them to participate too so you can chat about your favorite Summit moments. It’s the best kind of water cooler talk!

It’s time to turn off auto-pilot. We can’t wait to spend this time tuning into purpose along with other military spouses around the globe!
